I think it's time we made love to the wasteland
Laid claim to all the bombshells standing onstage
And after all the love and hate that we've swallowed
I know we finally have to beat out this bleeding rage.
You've taken too many hits on this battlefield
And you have every scar and bruise as proof of the fight
Because every day out here drags on a little too long
When far too quickly pass the nights.
We stand on sparkling city skylines
As I scream into vicious cycling sounds
The stars all fall from overhead
And crash into the ground.
We fear the best, we love the worst,
This chaos we shall rule.
I told you once, you tricked me twi
Plastic flowers, floating
In a shattered diamond sea.
She reached out to the sunset
Screaming painful memories.
"Just another shard," he said
As he dove, plunging deep.
Fell hard but floated gently
On forgotten memories.
The silence lingered violently,
Bright eyes opened dark.
Silver linings fade away
To let night scorch its mark.
She begged the neon sunset
As he fell into the sea.
Along the distant shoreline
Lay dissolving memories
I caught them with the fireflies
In glass jars that line the walls.
Their smiling eyes shine in the light;
Reflect, refract; it shatters, falls.
The self-contained luminescence
Drips from the holes for air.
I threw a star at their glass cells,
Imprisonment unfair.
As smoke rose from the broken glass
I saw nothing in the jars.
Water spilled across my floor,
Opening dirt scars.
I had caught only fireflies,
Bright eyes were just a dream.
Awoken from an earthy sleep,
The world tight at the seams.
I've pried the marbles from my mouth
For just a moment
Just to say...
Goddamnit, I can't find the words,
Can I get back to you
some other day?
I'm reaching for just how to find
The thoughts that have escaped my mind
Running for the door, now,
I swore I heard you call and
My inbox is empty,
You're trying to forget me.
I wish that this could work out
But we both know it
Will never be that way.
Crawling to the mountain tops
To fetch the speech my hands have dropped-
My lips have lost the sound;
It falls far to the ground.
But I could only spit the marbles
Out for just one moment... to say...
It's the middle of summer
And I'm a little bit high,
A little bit lonely
And a lot of bit dry.
You can pick up and call me,
I'm down by the bay.
Come join me and Mary
As we laugh life away.
So she says to me, "Jane,
Why do this to yourself?"
But I had no response,
And the sun rested at twelve.
Then the moon started to fall
As it shattered on the sea.
I whisper, "Join me in this dance,"
And hope you hear my plea.
Beautiful muse,
Crying high on your cloud,
You've fallen before
Now you're scared of the ground.
Forever you soar,
Try to escape the pain.
Terrified of
Everything you could gain.
Sketch on the stars,
Write your memoirs in black.
You have not yet died
But you've still not come back.
We rise up, challenging the sky,
Hearts face a hateful sun.
We scream an aching battle-cry
And into heat we run.
Frozen in erupted meaning,
Blinded by the cause.
Heavy breathing, souls beating,
Bared teeth and bloodied claws.
Through beautiful motion disastrous
We chant an ancient hymn.
They can never take control of us;
We own this rhythm.
Is this our disjointed quiet?
I can't say I hate the sound.
We sat so long in conversation
New words cannot be found.
Is this our time together?
I know it can't be long.
I just came to say hello
And hope to stay for
one more song.

Weeping deep into your pillow,
Cause no one is around.
Youre off to fight just one more battle,
Youre on your own again.
So your skin plays the role of notebook,
Your razorblades the pen.
I fall in, cry to you,
Im crashing through your door.
Pick you up, scream to you,
You arent alone here anymore.
Ill save you from the broken hallways,
Doors to hell line the walls.
Ill follow and Ill whisper to you,
And pray you hear my calls.
I fall back, protect you,
Ill break into your heart again.
